Celia Cruz makes history again! The Queen of Salsa will be honored with the Early Influence Award at the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The Queen of Salsa is officially making history once again. On April 13, during the live broadcast of the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night” on American Idol, the newest class of inductees was revealed. We are incredibly proud to share that our eternal Celia Cruz will be honored with the Early Influence Award at the 2026 ceremony.
From Havana to the global stage, Celia broke barriers and brought Latin music to the world with pride, passion, and authenticity. This monumental recognition cements her enduring legacy and the joy she continues to bring to generations of fans.
Omer Pardillo, executor of the Celia Cruz Estate and her former manager, issued the following statement on her induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026:
On behalf of the Celia Cruz Estate, we are deeply honored and proud to see Celia inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Omer Pardillo-Cid, Former Manager and Executor of the Celia Cruz Estate
As her former manager and the executor of her estate, this recognition is profoundly meaningful. Celia dedicated her life to music, to her fans, and to representing our culture with pride on the world stage. She broke barriers, opened doors, and carried the sound of Latin music across generations and borders.
This honor is not only a celebration of her extraordinary career, but also a testament to the enduring impact of her voice and her spirit. Celia belongs to the world, and today the world celebrates her.
We thank the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for this recognition and look forward to celebrating this historic milestone with fans everywhere.
